1838: born on 13 july. aashadh shukla chaturdashi. @ dikshitpada, cuttack; s/o sadashib prasad , annapurna.
1848: after completion primary education, in village pathasala , maqtab parsi, came cuttack. studied in cuttack school, ravenshaw collegiate school.
1855: won juniorship scholarship.
1856: proceeded hoogly college education; covered distance on bullock cart , foot in 22 days.
1858: received proficieny certificate in english. left hoogly worked teacher @ balasore teacher of radhanath ray, baikuntha nath dey , madhusudan das ; 3 great persons of century in orissa.
1859: came cuttack joined commissioner s office money order agent. founded youngmen s association, first organisation undertake public life.
1864: formed cuttack printing co. on co-oprative basis.
1865: founder member of cuttack printing co.
1866: organized public service. volunteer corps, save famine stricken people. submitted memorandum govt.(i) alleviate sufferings of people during naanka.(ii) improve irrigational, communication , railway facilities orissa. published harrowing tales of famine in utkala deepika. founder - editor – printer - manager of utkala deepika indeed heralded modern renaissance in orissa.
1867: founder – manager of purana prakashika company, cooperativefirm published oriya mahabharat, ramayan, puranas, kavyas of adi yuga, bhakti yuga, reeti yuga. founder – secretary, utkal bhasoddipini sabha - worked on language , literature of orissa. published oriya almanac universal consumption. patronized odisi dance , music. patronised enactment of oriya plays.
1868: led save odia movement , worked protection , preservantation of odia language. anti-oriya movement rocked province replace bengali in coastal, hindi in western, , telgu in southern odisha.it thwarted , oriya given due place.
1869: founder-secy-utkal ullasini sabha, social, cultural , political organisation.
1870: founder-secy of orissa sabha; social, cultural, , political organisation. joined brahmo samaj , became secretary.
1872: joined translator in dist judge court, cuttack.(b)deposited rs 30,000 establish cuttack college. public collection - (the present day revanshaw college.)
1874: presented various pothis, john beams prove separate entity of odia language.
1875–76: lost wife. led single life henceforth till death (1917).
1882: name of orissa sabha substituted name: utkal sabha or utkal association. secy of association 1915 worked unification of oriya speaking regions, formation of separate province of orissa, abolition of salt law, introduction of local self govt.such municipalities , dist boards etc.
1886: merger of utkal sabha indian national congress.
1887: attended congress session @ madras.
1892: left govt. service.
1895: attended congress session @ poona.
1896: attended congress session @ calcutta.
1898: became president, governing body, peary mohan academy , continued such till death. extended financial run school.
1899: founder member of coronation library.
1901: founded hostel in campus of p.m. academy- afterwards named gorishankar chhatrabas.
1903: founder member utkal sahitya samaj- premier literary , cultural organization of state. edited , translated raghuvansha in oriya , such works of literature. joined utkal sammelan founded madhu sudan das , worked actively there till end of life.
1904: founded kayasth boarding, kathagada sahi, cuttack.
1905: extended financial brahmana chatrabasa, puri.
1906: built bridge @ kendrapada.
1909: established , built cuttack town hall. built restshed , planted shade – giving trees @ khannagar smasan i, e funeral ground. built stone embankment on kendrapara canal. founded , established mahila training institute widows , destitutes. founded , established boys hostel.
1911: attended calcutta session of national congress.
1913: recipient of certificate of honour british durbar. founded , established girls school, dikshipara. founded , established charitable dispensary @ dikshitppara.
1915: attended congress session @ karachi.
1916: received award of ray bahadur govt. commented. infliction on me.
1917: last journey – 7 march-shukla-chaturdashi-phalgun.
