the plot of shaman king revolves around yoh asakura, shaman, medium between worlds of living , dead. yoh seeks become shaman king, 1 able contact great spirit, , gain ability reshape world in way wish, , purpose must win shaman fight, battle held once every 500 years between competing shamans. anna kyoyama, yoh s fiancée, enters scene , prescribes brutal training regimen prepare him tournament. begins plot lead yoh on journey lead him befriend ryu, tao ren, horohoro, faust viii, lyserg diethel, , joco mcdonnell (known chocolove mcdonnell).


during shaman fight, yoh encounters hao asakura, strong shaman wishes eradicate humans , create world shamans. @ end of shaman battles, remaining teams consist of yoh , friends, x-laws , hao s team. remaining teams choose forfeit tournament, crowning hao title of shaman king. hao led away, yoh , allies decide attack hao while merging great spirit, in coma. conquer hao, yoh , friends must defeat patch tribe members obligated serve under new shaman king.


after yoh , friends overcome ten patch tribe members, hao awakened new shaman king. defeats yoh , friends , absorbs souls. inside great spirit, yoh, ren, horohoro, lyserg, , chocolove battle against hao using 5 legendary spirits: spirit of earth, spirit of thunder, spirit of rain, spirit of fire, , spirit of wind. when former associates of yoh , friends begin appearing in great spirit, revealed great spirit granted hao s wish bring mother s spirit. anna s help, hao s mother brought great spirit. hao s mother tells him that, in order saved, must forgive humans murdering her. hao decides postpone plan eradicate humans , observe how yoh , friends change world.


seven years later, hana asakura waits @ station 5 legendary warriors , parents, yoh , anna.
