early life , beginnings

edwards born in hillsboro, oregon , raised in neighboring city of cornelius. first son of household, , has 1 younger brother. edwards father vocalist , guitarist of local band, , edwards credits him having sparked interest in music @ young age. edwards attended mckinney elementary school , evergreen middle school. edwards began studying japanese language @ age of 14 upon entering high school, , found himself infatuated, completing four-year course end of sophomore year. graduated glencoe high school in hillsboro. in summer of 2008, edwards visited japan first time, spending 2 months in fukuroi, shizuoka, sister city native hillsboro, , tokyo area. participated in japanese speech contest sponsored portland consulate general in 2008 , 2010 placed 2nd , 1st respectively. upon graduating in june 2010, edwards moved tokyo, japan pursue dream of becoming japanese pop singer.

edwards made debut on japanese television in june 2011, participating in first installment of singing competition nodo jiman za! world. since then, has appeared on various television programs both singer , actor. performer have appeared on every broadcast of nodo jiman za! world, , contestant have won twice. in 2012, edwards starred in musical comedy hinomaru dream, filmed entry work in 4th annual okinawa international film festival. film based loosely on edwards life, , plays on comical situations placed in while chasing dream of stardom in japan. film released theaters nationwide in spring of 2013.


major debut , release of skies

edwards first musical release indie ep n/f, containing 5 cover songs , 2 original works, totaling 7 tracks. edwards embarked on promotional tour in march 2013 commemorate release, announced signing warner music japan , plans release debut single on 21st birthday, july 31, 2013.


edwards debut single under warner music japan entitled f ga uta ni naru , released box set containing both single cd , dvd documentary footage of trip hometown of portland, oregon earlier in year.


f ga uta ni naru first , single released off of edwards first album skies, hit stores october 6, 2013. skies released double mini-album featuring disc sky, compilation of 5 original songs, 3 penned edwards himself, , disc earth, covers of 6 traditional japanese folk songs. title track, skies, later used in commercial university prep school masuda-juku (増田塾), airing first half of 2014.


edwards appeared in , sang jingle commercial lotte brand throat lozenge beginning in october, 2013.
