when auto-pact signed in 1965, opening border tariff-free movement of vehicles produced on both sides of border, mercury truck production split between oakville, ont. plant , san jose, cal. plant. enabled oakville ramp production supply eastern , canada ford trucks. no mercury trucks sold in us.


ford wound down production of mercury trucks in late spring of 1968; documented mercury trucks have been found built late may 15, 1968. employees of ford in time period have reported leftover mercury m-series being converted ford trucks. however, no paperwork or confirmation has yet surfaced regarding final disposition of these, nor of official end date production.


following discontinuation of mercury m-series pickup, m-series tilt-cab version of c-series survived until 1972. after discontinuation, next mercury light truck 1993 mercury villager minivan.
