samantha claire taylor born in amersham, buckinghamshire on 25 september 1975, part of sporting family: father played rugby, , mother played hockey. attended dolphin school in hurst, berkshire, played softball, participating girl in school team. taylor did not play cricket until summer camp @ age of 13, thereafter improved such level captained dolphin school cricket team, playing alongside boys. subsequently moved abbey school, reading short time, , kendrick school. although played hockey teenager, @ represented england @ under-17 , under-19 forward, began playing women s county cricket thames valley, making debut side in may 1993.
