the park has more 510 plant species, including 110 tree species, more 200 species of mushrooms, 140 species of birds , 1,300 species of insects. yezo squirrels, japanese hares, yezo brown frogs, hokkaido salamanders , other animals inhabit park.

the biggest symbol of park centennial memorial tower located near western entrance. tower built in commemoration of hokkaidō centenary, in september, 1970. height of tower 100 m., , includes view room located @ height of 23.5 m. inside tower.
