the station known kick , signed on in 1950. charles mccord, cast member of imus in morning, worked @ station in 1960s (his first job in radio) before moving on larger markets. station changed call signs kids in 1991.


when vision communications first went on air in june 1990, station off air, , fm station small, employing approximately 8 people. chicago-based snowmen broadcasting inc. owned , amer sales representative.


in years between, amer moved role of sales manager, station manager, before purchasing kadi through vision communications, company amer owns wife, karen. purchase finalized in 2000, vision communications had management agreement kadi since 1994, year amer formed company. in 2001, amer obtained rights 1340 kadi (formerly 1340 kids, 1340 kick).


staff grew 20 there today, , sister station kadi-fm reached top spot in arbitron’s ratings contemporary christian stations in 18- 34-year-old women category, target market. 1340 kick has grown in listenership since adopting conservative talk format.


in summer 2016, kick began simulcasting @ 92.3 fm, k222ct. on friday, january 20, 2017 long-time springfield radio voice woody p. snow began hosting local morning show , station rebranded 92.3 fm kick.
