early career

born in walthamstow, london, mccoy part of youth teams of leyton, arsenal , watford before becoming trainee latter. released watford in summer of 2007 having not been given professional contract, , joined league 2 club hereford united on 31 august on one-month contract. in december 2007, made debut isthmian league premier division club harrow borough in 1–0 defeat staines town in middlesex senior cup, proved appearance club. returned isthmian league premier division leyton in january 2008, before signing wealdstone, of same division, on 6 august 2008.

mccoy played impressively wealdstone in 2008–09 season, in made 34 appearances, , rewarded new contract in june 2009. named club s player of year, being awarded jock law trophy, after being chosen club s supporters performances in 2009–10. named players player of year, season in made 50 appearances , scored 1 goal. during time worked in cctv management in kings cross area of london.


wycombe wanderers

mccoy entered professional game after signing wycombe wanderers of league 2 on one-year contract undisclosed fee on 27 july 2010, after impressing on trial. made debut wycombe on 10 august 2010 in league cup first round 2–1 defeat millwall @ adams park. did not make football league debut until 3 january 2011 in 1–0 home win on gillingham, before making right position own ahead of danny foster. mccoy signed new contract wycombe in march 2011, tying him club until summer of 2013. helped wycombe earn promotion league 1 after finishing third in league 2 in 2010–11, appearing 25 times.


mccoy made 32 appearances wycombe in 2011–12, culminated in club being relegated after 1 year in league one. sustained ankle ligament damage during wycombe s 1–0 away defeat watford in league cup on 11 august 2012, , returned team 4 months later in 2–0 loss away yeovil town in football league trophy on 4 december. signed new one-year contract in july 2013, after making 11 appearances in 2012–13.


mccoy key figure wycombe in 2013–14, in fought against relegation league two, , finished campaign 40 appearances. however, released wycombe on 15 may 2014, after 4 years @ club.


york city

he signed league 2 club york city on two-year contract on 9 june 2014. made debut in york s 1–1 away draw tranmere rovers in opening match of 2014–15 on 9 august 2014. on 22 january 2016, mccoy left york mutual consent.


ebbsfleet united

on 12 august 2016, mccoy signed national league south club ebbsfleet united. started in ebbsfleet s 2–1 win on chelmsford city in 2017 national league south play-off final, saw club promoted national league.
