the winner, sandeep acharya, released first solo album, mere saath saara jahaan, failed attention. acharya later died jaundice in december 2013. first runner-up, n. c. karunya hyderabad, released solo album titled aapka karunya. song aane chaar aane appeared in film lage raho munna bhai. anuj sharma, finished third, released solo album titled khwaab in 2010.


neha kakkar participated in second season of indian idol, , has had string of hits in 2016 , 2017 timeframe.


menal jain has since released solo album mehram , performed number of stage shows sonu nigam. received offer anu malik.


in addition, antara mitra, regular favourite of anu malik, received many playback offers , released remixed version of yeh ishq hai jab met, composed pritam. mitra contestant of music show junoon , recording solo album. 1 of songs featured in film raajneeti. mitra has gained fame in recent years 1 of singers of song gerua movie dilwale.


monali thakur sang song zara zara touch me in film race song sexy lady (khaab dekhe jhoote moote). music director pritam offered chance in film golmaal returns song titled meow , picturised on kareena kapoor. has sung in bengali. has sung song sawaar loon film lootera, cham cham film baaghi. thakur appeared judge on indian version of tv show rising star.
