early life , career beginnings

the group consisted of 4 sisters. farrah king (born (1984-02-17)february 17, 1984), neosha king (born (1986-01-26)january 26, 1986) , twins felisha , fallon king (born (1988-06-05)june 5, 1988). maywood, illinois, 4 sisters moved atlanta, georgia begin musical career. girls stated have been group since oldest, farrah, 2 years old. girls quick start singing professionally, starting when farrah 7 years old. group stated, in interview mtv, father 1 brought them together, parents singers well. when asked name came from, girls stated, s funny because sitting in hotel room trying come name group. father, our manager asked cherish? cherish do? said yes , s how name cherish came about.

cherish first rose fame in 2003, when teamed female hip hop artist da brat record duet her. finished track, titled in love wit chu , released on march 3, 2003. song became commercial success in united states, charting on many charts in country. single reached top 10 of billboard rhythmic top 40 chart, peaking @ number 9. single became success on hot rap songs chart, peaking @ number 12. on billboard hot 100, single narrowly missed top 40, peaking @ number 44.

2003–04: moment

cherish s first solo single, entitled miss p. , produced jermaine dupri, written kandi , featured da brat. had been signed warner bros. imprint reprise records. after success of collaboration da brat, single expected hit. however, single failed chart on major charts in u.s. or countries other girl s own. did, however, have minor success on hot r&b/hip-hop songs chart in united states, peaked @ number 87. other performance of song on soul train in may 2003, album received little promotion, can attributed commercial failure. due commercial failure of lead single, girl s debut album, titled moment, shelved few months later. after album dropped, group recorded 3 songs powerpuff girls: power pop soundtrack, called chemical x , power of female , , me , girls . music video power of female released promotional single on cartoon network in mid-2003.

2005–07: unappreciated

in 2005, girls began work on album, since previous album had been shelved. wrote entire album , said work more mature , unreleased previous work. album had productions jermaine dupri, don vito, , jazze pha. on march 21, 2006, cherish released first single in 3 years, titled it. single featured sean p on guest vocals. single met positive critical reception, strong commercial reception. single met large amount of success in us, charting on several billboard charts. single became first reach top 20 of billboard hot 100, when peaked @ number 12. single success on pop 100 chart, peaked @ number 2, hot r&b/hip-hop songs chart, reaching peak of number 10 on chart. single major hit in new zealand, peaking @ number 3 on official singles chart. song climbed top 40 in united kingdom , ireland, peaking @ number 30 , 34 respectively. song charted in countries such australia, peaking @ number 67, germany, peaking @ number 87, , france, reaching peak of number 48.

in 2007, girls confirmed in studio recording new album. later confirmed album feature production artist such don vito, blade, jazze pha , tricky stewart. in summer of 2007, song titled bat range , produced clutch leaked online. however, later confirmed song not appear on girls second album. in october 2007, cherish revealed lead single second album released following month. later confirmed single called killa, , feature yung joc on guest vocals. single released airplay , digital download on november 27, 2007. video premiered via bet s access granted on december 12, featuring scenes of film step 2: streets. video directed little x. in us, single became hit group. became second top 40 hit on billboard hot 100, reaching peak of number 39. reached top 40 of pop 100, peaking @ number 23. single has become 1 of group s poorest performing singles on hot r&b/hip-hop songs, reaching peak of 53. on uk singles chart, single climbed peak of 52, making second highest charting single date. single did become first chart in czech republic, peaked @ number 10. became second top 20 hit in new zealand, reaching peak of number 18.

in spring 2008, fallon , felisha confirmed working on side project didn t involve other 2 members of group. under name f+f, girls began recording album separate cherish. fact working on solo projects made many fans speculate group breaking up. in 2009, track f+f called infected leaked online unknown source. fueled rumors of band breaking more. after leakage of song, not heard cherish until 2010, when cherish released tribute song haiti called voices beyond. few weeks later, group filmed music video song don t let him away rasheeda, girls featured on track. on september 28, 2010, track f+f titled lights out leaked online. later in 2010, capitol records confirmed cherish releasing new album, titled breakthrough . on october 27, 2010, fallon & felisha did exclusive interview aceshowbiz, asked on status of cherish group. fallon responded saying cherish brand , bond unbreakable. plan on having long career in music industry , release more albums group in near future . in mid-november 2010, music videos both infected , lights out filmed. music video infected released on february 15, 2011. no word yet if lights out released, nor confirmed album title yet.

2011–present: new album , music

on may 10, 2011, announced on cherish s official facebook working on new album on september 20, 2011, cherish stated on facebook releasing new music in november.

a song called fallon , felisha featured in 2011 film s.w.a.t.: firefight (sequel 2003 s s.w.a.t.) , on film s soundtrack.

fallon , felisha announced on twitter account next single young forever ; however, plans single s release became uncertain following announcement of cherish s return in may 2011.

on november 18, 2011, cherish confirmed ep had been pushed , not released in november, stated in september 2011. release date set february 2012.

in december 2011, 2 new songs marked cherish tracks, invader , secretary , leaked online. on january 14, 2012, cherish announced possible reality series based on band, , filming pilot. on february 22, 2013, cherish announced via official facebook single titled boy released on march 1, 2013. promotional video made , uploaded onto band s youtube page. however, later revealed single pushed until march 15, 2013, in favor of going in circles , released on march 2, 2013, via youtube.

on december 19, 2016, sisters fallon , felisha king announced during facebook live video reuniting cherish once again working on new music duo , farrah , noesha feature on lot of music group remain two-piece.

on february 5, 2017, fallon , felisha king announced excitement upcoming album , releasing 4 singles back-to-back , announcing new tour coming , first single 1 time released on february 24, 2017, through facebook page. 1 time released on february 24, 2017, first single upcoming album.
