race

the race held on 106 laps of 5.888 miles autódromo municipal-avenida paz, giving distance of 624.162 miles (1,000 km). in race, factory ferrari won ahead of privately entered ferrari 250 mm of alfonso de portago , harry schell , aston martin db3s peter collins , pat griffith. car number 10, driven farina , maglioli took impressive victory, winning in time of 6hrs 41:50.8 mins., averaging speed of 93.197mph. second place went de portago , schell , albeit 3 laps adrift. podium complete winner of 1953 rac tourist trophy, collins , griffiths in turn further lap down.
