tanaka signed world wrestling federation in 1990, formed tag team called orient express akio sato, managed mr. fuji. while orient express supposed represent japan, both tanaka , mr fuji born in hawaii.


the orient express kicked off prolonged feud rockers started @ wrestlemania vi, sato , tanaka victorious via countout. , continued off , on on year. orient express got involved in legion of doom / demolition feud mr. fuji managed demolition well. demolition being phased out , orient express began taking on legion of doom instead. legion of doom / orient express feud extremely onesided due legion of doom’s massive size advantage.


after wrestlemania vi, tanaka , sato made 2 pay-per-view appearances while in wwf. firstly @ summerslam 1990 team defeated hacksaw jim duggan , nikolai volkoff. part of sgt. slaughter led team mercenaries (that included boris zhukov. sato pinned bushwhacker butch 1:46 match , tanaka pinned tito santana moments later, @ 2:13 match.


when akio sato decided leave u.s. wrestling scene in latter days of 1990, wwf decided reunite team known badd company, time paul diamond wearing mask hide fact he’s not asian , using name of kato. during time team had received match old enemies rockers @ 1991 royal rumble , against new foundation @ 1992 royal rumble, 2 ppv appearances new orient express.


sato briefly rejoined team in 1991 team tanaka , kato series of 6-man tag-team matches on wwf house shows, sato left wwf after handful of matches together. tanaka missed number of appearances in 1991 due death of father, duke keomuka, although returned finish out wwf contract (which ended in february 1992) losing series of singles squash matches.
