following departure guns n roses, stradlin returned hometown of lafayette, indiana, began working on new material. formed band izzy stradlin , ju ju hounds, consisted of stradlin on vocals , rhythm guitar, rick richards of georgia satellites on lead guitar, jimmy ashhurst of broken homes on bass, , charlie quintana on drums. self-titled debut album released in october 1992 positive reviews; rolling stone called ragged, blues-drenched, , thoroughly winning solo debut. ju ju hounds played first show in september @ avalon in chicago, before embarking on tour of europe, australia, , north america.


in may 1993, stradlin reunited guns n roses 5 shows in europe , middle east fill in replacement, gilby clarke, had broken wrist in motorcycle accident. after stradlin returned ju ju hounds, axl rose dedicated stradlin-penned double talkin jive him during several shows. in september, ju ju hounds undertook tour of japan, band played final show @ shibuya public hall in tokyo. stradlin took time off music, during traveled extensively , dedicated of time other passion—motor racing, building track close indiana home.
