iberian lynx

the acebuche breeding centre in doñana has developed captive breeding program has achieved survival of eleven individuals born in centre, , of on thirty captured in park, survival otherwise doubtful. these conservation efforts threatened high mortality rate among cats , recurring violations of laws prohibiting cars entering park or driving on roads, although, agencies have reported, causes of death not clear. precarious survival situation of animal has become emblematic symbol of park general public.

camels
during 19th , 20th centuries, herd of feral dromedaries roamed area. may have been introduced during moorish conquest of spain in 8th century, or may have escaped herd introduced canary islands in 1829 marquis de molina beasts of burden. 1950s, there 8 individuals left, , these threatened poachers. 1960s, there three, more released wild after being used in filming of lawrence of arabia in 1962.
