Federal expenses and revenues 2013–14 Pakistan federal budget
on 13 june 2013, dar presented federal budget 2013–14, termed business friendly . total outlay of federal budget ₨. 3.5 trillion annual deficit of 6.3%; inflation set @ 9.5% gdp growth projected @ 4.8%. budget putted ₨. 1.55tn psdp; additional allocation of ₨. 75 billion bisp; defence expenditure kept @ ₨. 627 billion debt servicing near @ ₨. 926 billion. gst increased 16% 17% social security 10%, minimum raised ₨. 3000 ₨. 5000; ₨. 225 billion reserved energy sector development.
the tax exemption luxury cars proposed abolished while 1200cc hybrid vehicles being exempted form import duty. concession of 50.01% had been proposed 1200–1800cc hybrid vehicles. recommendations include ₨. 20,000 tax applicable on purchase of 1000cc cars. withholding tax on wedding ceremonies being held @ commercial venues has been proposed along taxes on foreign movies , dramas. additional taxation on cigarettes, paan, , chahliya been increased. gdp growth rat set target 2013–14 @ 4.8% , revenue targeted @ ₨. 2.475tn. non-tax income set around ₨. 800 billion government had allocated ₨. 185 billion energy subsidy.
finance minister ishaq dar maintained circular debt amounted more ₨. 500 billion eliminated in 60 days. budget proposes abolish ministers discretionary funds. initiation of laptops scheme approved government , customs duty on water filtration equipment proposed decreased while people s works program renamed tamir-e-watan pakistan program (lit. nation–building pakistan programme). finance minister ishaq dar said auction 3g technology held , borrowing state bank of pakistan (sbp) reduced. rate of inflation kept under single digit , targeted rate 2013–14 has been fixed @ 9.5%t. said government inherited battered economy , average rate of inflation stood @ 13.1% in last 5 years.
