career

having begun skating in 2005, aliev trained in ukhta until 2013 when moved saint petersburg, becoming student of evgeni rukavicin.


2014–15 season

aliev debuted on isu junior grand prix (jgp) series in 2014–15 season. awarded bronze medals in ljubljana, slovenia , aichi, japan, finished third alternate place @ jgp final. making senior international debut, placed 10th @ 2014 golden spin of zagreb, isu challenger series event. returning junior ranks, won bronze medals @ 2015 russian junior championships , 2015 european youth olympic winter festival.


2015–16 season

in 2015–16, aliev s first assignment junior grand prix event in riga, latvia. placing 6th in short program , first in free skate, won gold medal margin of 5.32 points ahead of latvia s deniss vasiļjevs. took gold in linz, austria, total score 14 points higher silver medalist vincent zhou, , qualified jgp final.


competing on senior level, aliev awarded bronze @ 2015 international cup of nice , silver @ 2015 cs tallinn trophy. in december, won silver medal @ 2015–16 jgp final in barcelona, having finished second nathan chen of united states. later month, placed 6th @ 2016 russian championships in yekaterinburg, before winning first junior national title in january in chelyabinsk.


aliev won bronze medal in men s singles discipline , gold medal in team event @ 2016 youth olympics in hamar, norway. awarded small gold medal short program result @ 2016 world junior championships in debrecen, hungary. ranked 7th in free skate, finished 6th overall.


2016–17 season

starting season on junior grand prix series, aliev won gold in ostrava, czech republic, after placing first in both segments. ranked first in short , 7th in free, finished 4th @ next jgp event, in ljubljana, slovenia. results gave him last spot @ 2016–17 jgp final in marseilles. in december, won gold medal in france, margin of 3.55 points on alexander samarin. later month, aliev finished 5th @ 2017 russian championships in chelyabinsk.


in 2017 aliev won second junior national title in saint petersburg. result gave him spot @ 2017 world junior championships. ranked 1st in short program, third in free skate, , second overall in taipei, taiwan, winning silver medal behind american vincent zhou , ahead of teammate alexander samarin.


2017–18 season

aliev started season placing 1st in short program @ domestic competition in saint petersburg . landed 4lz-3t combination, 4t, 3a , scored 99.7 points, withdrew before free skate. announced decision try 6 quads in 2 programs, including quad lutz, quad salchow , 2 quad toe loops in free program.


aliev going compete @ 2017 cs ondrej nepela trophy withdrew due ankle inflammation .
