he pupil @ trinity primary school , hawick high school. played @ hawick wanderers, hawick , heriot s. has represented scotland @ under-17, under-18, , under-20 level before went on gain full international honours.


professional career

hogg made 2 warriors appearances in season 2010–11 , began 2011–12 rabodirect pro12 campaign club s starting full-back. named in pro12 dream team @ end of 2012/13 season. announced in november 2014 stuart hogg had signed two-year contract extension glasgow warriors, keeping him @ club until @ least may 2017. signed further contract in 2016 taking him end of 2018/19 season. in 2017 hogg became youngest player reach 100 appearances @ age of 24.


international career

he gained first cap scotland national rugby union team after earning call andy robinson s 36-man squad 2012 6 nations following series of impressive performances glasgow. hogg impressed on debut against wales in cardiff, coming on substitute following injury max evans. however, denied try on debut referee wrongly calling knock-on in build crossing line. hogg subsequently named in starting line-up first time match versus france. scored first try scotland in 8th minute against france.

on 8 june 2014, during scotland s summer tour made first appearance against usa after red card against wales , marked game 5th international try. on 14 june 2014, slotted crucial 43-metre kick secure win against canada @ bmo stadium final score 17–19 scotland during scotland summer tour. on 20 june 2014, scored sixth try scotland against argentina during scotland summer tour. scotland won game 21–18.


he played role in scotland 7 s team in commonwealth games in glasgow @ ibrox stadium scored 1 try in competition. during scotland s autumn internationals in 2014 scored 2 tries, 1 against argentina @ murrayfield , 1 against tonga @ rugby park, kilmarnock


2015

in struggling scotland side in 2015 6 nations championship, hogg made metres (442); beat defenders (18); , made second carries (63). defensively, made significant contribution cover tackler, particularly against england made 4 last ditch tackles in opening quarter of game.


domestically successful season hogg, glasgow warriors winning first ever pro 12 title @ ravenhill in belfast.


having been selected in 31-man squad, hogg played in 5 of scotland s matches @ 2015 rugby world cup, in eliminated @ quarter-final stage australia after controversial decision referee craig joubert has since been declared wru wrong decision.


2016

the 2016 6 nations championship again saw hogg in thick of action, scoring tries against france , ireland, latter inspired 55-metre individual effort after collecting high ball. praised creativity throughout tournament, setting tries against french , italy. following public vote, hogg named 6 nations player of championship, first scottish player receive award.


2017

hogg had great 2017 6 nations championship scoring 2 tries against ireland, continued form scoring against france. in last game of 2017 6 nations championship against italy added 3 points boot in 29-0 victory. received second successive player of championship award, becoming second person achieve this.


on 19 april hogg named 1 of 2 scottish players in initial squad selected 2017 british , irish lions tour new zealand in june , july.. hogg injured in accidental collision lions player during third appearance of tour in provincial match, , left tour before start of test matches. stuart hogg received man of match against new zealand 18/11/17 , recognised 1 of best full backs in international rugby. on 25th november 2017, hogg injured in warm before game against australia.
